Highland "Mothery"

Greetings, dear readers!  Just a quick update -- it's been so long that I almost forgot I have a blog!  Summer has finally arrived, after the long and rough winter across the country... our poor friends and family in Wisconsin-- that's all I have to say!!    The winter was manageable for us in Vermont (although the long-time locals say it was the worst they remember), but husband and I have had a lot of life changes recently that have kept us busier than busy ... we moved into a lovely Vermont home in the mountains -- our own Highland utopia!  The house has a lot of Colonial potential, and we're having a grand time stating to decorate it!   Aside from packing, moving, unpacking, and me traveling across the country for my "real" work, we're most proud to report that we're expecting a little lad or lass in less than three months!

F&I war events have started - we just attended our first one of the season in New Hampshire at the Fort at Number 4 -- it was lovely weather and we were lucky enough to be set up under a nice tree that provided even more shade.  We could see the battle from our own chairs, and smell the gunpowder during the demonstrations.  It's always nice to revert a couple hundred years and just enjoy the day.

The Highland Wifery has been dormant, production-wise, for the last 8 months but I'm itching to make some soap, weave some game bags and shooting bags, and naturally make a teeny tiny kilt or chemise for the end of the year events. Husband (AKA Papa!) has been very busy as usual, working on projects and doing his ever-beautiful work.

Look for more blog posts as I get back into the swing of things this summer before baby's arrival!
